Purposes and Objectives
Purposes and Objectives of the Home Builders Association of Greater New Orleans
With a growing membership comprised of over 1,000 member companies, the Home Builders Association of Greater New Orleans (HBA) is one of Louisiana’s largest and oldest professional trade associations (est. 1941). Representing the residential construction industry and related firms, the HBA’s jurisdiction encompasses Orleans, Jefferson, St. Bernard, Plaquemines, St. Charles, St. John the Baptist, and St. James Parishes, and the municipalities within. As part of the fabric of the New Orleans area community, the HBA is dedicated to helping rebuild our region with safe, affordably-priced housing for all.
In promoting professional responsibility, education, and leadership for the building industry, members officially accepted into the Association swear a formal code of ethics. Membership in the HBA provides limitless opportunities to participate in cutting- edge industry related educational and networking events; get the latest updates on legislative, regulatory, political, and industry news; and gain access to our statewide insurance programs, plus other national member benefits. Your membership in the Home Builders Association of Greater New Orleans is actually a three-for-one: by virtue of belonging to the HBA, you’re automatically a member of the Louisiana Home Builders Association (LHBA), and the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) – and all of the benefits that flow from those organizations!
As the voice of the residential construction industry, the HBA of Greater New Orleans is dedicated to enhancing the business climate and interests of its membership. Moreover, our member companies employ thousands of local citizens, thereby contributing greatly to the local economy. By promoting quality, affordable housing, and ethical and professional standards for the industry, the HBA will continue to serve as a responsible citizen through active community involvement.
The HBA strives to:
Be the voice of the residential housing industry;
Enhance the climate and protect the business interests of our membership;
Promote quality, affordable housing;
Educate members and the public as to the industry business and association goals;
Promote ethical and professional standards for the industry; and
Be a responsible citizen through active community involvement.
